Hi PW families!

Tomorrow 7/11 is our big Pancake Breakfast and Swimathon Day!

There will be no normal practice on 7/11. From 8:30-9:30 AM ALL swimmers from ALL sessions can stop by (any time in that window) for pancakes and juice! We will not be getting in the water in the AM!

At night on 7/11 will be our Swimathon at Sunset! Please note the time that kids will be swimming is broken into 30 minute blocks...

8 & Under- 8:00- 8:30 PM

9-12- 8:30-9:00 PM

13+ 9:00-9:30 PM

Athletes can be at the pool for the entire swimathon (8:00-9:30) but should only be in the water during their designated time. Their goal is to swim as many laps as possible during the 30 minutes. We will have a movie on to enjoy while not in the water. Again- this event doubles as a fundraiser so those who can should be gathering donations from familiy/friends/neighbors either as a flat rate or a per-lap pledge. Coaches will be there to count laps :) Parents are welcome to attend. At 9:30/when the movie is finished we will be asking families to gather their belongings and exit the pool area. 

Signups for the Village Green Meet on Saturday 7/15 will be due Thursday July 13th at 12 noon. This meet is at Village Green and our last meet before City!

Due to several outside circumstances the city meet will be held in a different format this year. 5 different pools will "host" the city meet and all results will be merged together. Parkwood is one of the host pools! This means that for the first (and probably only time ever) Parkwood is a City Meet Host! We won our division at the city meet last year and I would love to do it again! We need your help getting signed up! In years past- the city meet has charged an entry fee, event fee, and relay fee (which gets pricey quick). This year the only charge is a $12/swimmer entry fee! It doesn't matter if your child signs up for 1 individual event or 4- it is a flat rate of $12/swimmer (cash or check to Parkwood Swim Team so we can write one big check for the team). Please start thinking about if this is something your kiddo can join us for! The meet will be AT PARKWOOD on Friday, July 21st in the morning. I will have more details for you later this week- but be thinking about this meet (entries will be due on July 18th at 10 AM).
